Giving Back … In Time for the Holidays!
Last week BHS held a yard sale to benefit Turning Point Shelter in Framingham, which suffered a devastating fire back in October 2011.
BHS residents, BHS staff and staff at the South Middlesex Opportunity Council attended the sale, which raised $330 for the Turning Point Shelter. Items were donated from BHS supporters, including the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Proceeds from the yard sale went to buy gift cards for Turning Point shelter residents. BHS residents were involved in various aspects of the yard sale, including organizing a raffle fundraiser, advertising the yard sale to other residents, and attending the event.
Giving back is an important part of community life at Bethany Hill School. Residents (and staff, too) are encouraged to look outside themselves and get involved in issues that are meaningful to them, and this is especially important during the holidays.
