Now Hiring – Program Director
Bethany Hill Place seeks a mission driven leader with a commitment to social justice to provide transformative educational and social programming. The Program Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing coaching and case management for individuals living with mental health issues, coordinating youth programming, assisting with community events, and tracking the mission effectiveness of Bethany Hill Place. The Program Director collaborates with other Program Staff and community partners to ensure that the counseling and support offered is responsive to resident needs. They seek to empower residents and foster a sense of community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Case Management and Coaching: Assist residents to achieve their goals by working closely in a one-on-one individualized counseling/coaching relationship with a particular focus on serving those living with mental health issues.
- Be a counseling presence to residents: e.g., available; compassionate listening; offering advice/options; challenging; affirming.
- Assess and develop goal-attainment plans for select residents.
- Monitor and support residents, ensuring attendance, evaluating responses, and advocating for required services.
- Provide residents with appropriate referrals to service providers.
- Establish systems and maintain accurate and complete records pertaining to goalsetting and goal attainment to measure program effectiveness.
- Mission Effectiveness:
- Set program goals, track progress, setbacks, and overall performance to show social impact of the organization’s unique housing and programming model.
- Create, implement, and/or utilize systems to track data pertaining to resident goal attainment, volunteer participation, in-kind donations, etc.
- Plan and manage the annual program budget, including managing grant expenditures.
- Youth Programming: Design and deliver youth programs
- Design and manage twice-weekly clubs and the 2-week summer club for children and youth
- Design and manage the Emerging Leaders program, a leadership program for older youth
- In conjunction with fellow Program staff and the Executive Director, plan and manage the program budget (annually) and manage any grant funds designated for programming.
- Volunteer Engagement: Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers.
- Create a pipeline of volunteers for events, in-kind donations, facilities projects, specialized resident support, etc.
- Act as a primary point of contact for questions pertaining to paperwork, scheduling, expectations, and opportunities. Track and retain CORI and other relevant forms.
- Track volunteer participation and ensure individuals are adequately thanked and recognized
OTHER JOB DUTIES
- Create and nurture effective communication within the organization
- Participate enthusiastically in community activities, planning and leading as needed.
- Maintain a mentoring presence with residents. Model service to the others in need, care for the earth, peaceful conflict resolution, and gracious hospitality at all times
- Collaborate with property management to ensure property reflects values of Bethany Hill Place – care of the dear neighbor without distinction, peaceful conflict resolution, and gracious hospitality, including ensuring residents respect the community and the organization’s mission.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with relevant community partners.
- Work with the Development staff to ensure availability of programming materials and impact data for funding reports and BHP’s online presence.
- Provide program support for late afternoon / early evening events, generally no more than twice a week.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Educational background in social work, human services, education, or related professional experience leading to required knowledge. BA required, MSW/MA preferred
- Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, comfort serving as an advocate and liaison for Bethany Hill Place
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound budgeting skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google tools, Zoom, and other technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours – oversight of evening workshops and some weekend events as needed
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese a plus, but not required

The Program Director role is full time (exempt) and located in Framingham, MA. As a primarily resident-facing role, an on-site/in person presence is required with limited flexibility for hybrid work. The salary range for this full-time position is $65,000 to $80,000. The successful candidate’s salary will be determined commensurate with experience, competencies, and skills.
