Health & Nutrition: The Healthy Eating Plate
Yesterday evening, New Beginnings’ staff members Jay Campbell and Eliza Quill put on a cooking & nutrition program for residents… and some of the staff too!
Attendees learned cooking skills like sauteeing and stir frying, and how to choose the right foods for a nutritious meal using The Healthy Eating Plate as a guide.
The Healthy Eating Plate was developed by experts at Harvard Health Publications and nutrition experts at the Harvard School of Public Health. It is based on the most up-to-date nutrition research, and points consumers to the healthiest choices in the major food groups.
