Today is the 5th Annual National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. A resolution passed by the US Senate in 2007 marks January 11th as a day of awareness and vigilance for victims of human trafficking worldwide. Last week. President Obama declared all of January “National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month”.

The Sisters of St. Joseph held a vigil on January 8th to commemorate this day, in association with the Anti-Trafficking Coalition of the Boston Unit of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious.
