Letter from the Board Chair
Dear Friends,
I hope you are doing well and enjoying the beginning of summer.
As you may know, Bethany Hill Place’s long-term Executive Director Trish Appert resigned in March after 12 years with the organization. We thank her for her unwavering commitment to advance our organization’s mission to provide safe, supportive housing with educational opportunities for those in need and for her dedicated leadership and service.
The Board of Trustees is using this period of transition to reflect on Bethany Hill Place’s organizational and leadership needs and are pleased to announce the engagement of Gloria Franqui as Interim Executive Director (IED).
As a former chief executive, Gloria has extensive experience working with nonprofits to achieve their full potential by building social relevance and improving overall effectiveness, performance and sustainability during periods of transition. She has also served as Interim Executive Director for four nonprofit organizations – New Community Services, Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy, Child Care Resource Center, and the New England Hemophilia Association. Gloria’s appointment as IED will ensure the important work of Bethany Hill Place continues uninterrupted during this transition.
We are pleased Gloria will serve in this capacity for the next four to six months as the Board of Trustees conducts a search to find the new permanent Executive Director. During this transition period, we are committed to find the best individual to lead Bethany Hill Place, while maintaining a stable and effective organization for staff, residents, and the community.
A salute to our staff who have been working tirelessly during this transition, ensuring Bethany Hill Place continues to provide supportive and effective housing and programming to our residents and the community.
We are excited for the future of Bethany Hill Place and thank you for your support and for the transformational impact your good-will and support makes possible for the children, adults, and families who call Bethany Hill Place home.
If you have any questions or concerns during this transition, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at boardchair@bethanyhillplace.org or Gloria at gfanqui@bethanyhilllplace.org or 508-270-8005.
Sincerely yours,
Leslie A. Bishop, Board Chair
