Bethany Hill Place Announces New Board Trustees for Fiscal Year 2025
Bethany Hill Place is thrilled to announce the addition of seven distinguished professionals to our Board of Trustees, starting September 2024. In a time when recruiting top talent for non-profit boards is particularly challenging, we are incredibly fortunate to welcome such a robust and dedicated group. Their diverse expertise and unwavering support for our mission will be invaluable as we continue to provide supportive housing and educational opportunities to our community.
Shauna Downey, M.D. Dr. Shauna Downey is a retired pediatrician and educator, currently teaching at Fontbonne Academy in Milton. Her medical expertise and experience in child and family support programs, including her volunteer work with Bethany Hill Place, will bring a unique perspective to our board. Shauna’s commitment to education and community health is a perfect fit for our mission.
Alicia A. D’Oyley, Ed.D. Alicia D’Oyley is a strategic higher education leader with more than 15 years of experience in enrollment management, academic support, and student development. A proud and accomplished graduate of Regis College, where she earned both her B.A. and M.S. degrees, Alicia has held key leadership roles at Bunker Hill Community College, Bridgewater State University, and Middlesex Community College. Alicia’s extensive background in higher education and her dedication to student success will be extremely useful as we institute our educational initiatives.
Janet Munroe Janet Munroe brings extensive experience in managed care contract negotiations, with a career spanning roles at Lumeris, Guidehouse, Humana, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Her expertise in value-based reimbursement and long-term financial sustainability will be instrumental in guiding Bethany Hill Place’s financial strategies. Janet’s commitment to enhancing healthcare systems aligns with our mission to support individuals and families in need.
Al Simpson Al Simpson has dedicated his career to human services. With over three decades of experience in various roles—including direct care staff, clinician, program manager, clinical director, and vice president—Al has developed a deep understanding of the importance of supporting individuals and families in need. His leadership as the Vice President of Residential Services for New Hope Inc. and his current role as Latency Age Program Director for Eliot Community Human Services in New Bedford reflect his commitment to helping vulnerable populations.
Lorraine Quinn, CSJ brings over four decades of experience as an educator, primarily teaching and guiding young students in Catholic schools across Massachusetts. Her work includes roles as a teacher, guidance department secretary, and remedial reading instructor. Her extensive experience in education, combined with her involvement in various school boards and programs like Rainbows for Children, positions her as a valuable advocate for the educational initiatives at Bethany Hill Place.
Lisa Zappala Lisa Zappala is the Chief Financial Officer at BlueHub Capital, with a long history of financial leadership in both the non-profit and technology sectors. Her experience in financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning will be crucial in guiding Bethany Hill Place’s financial health and sustainability. Lisa’s dedication to community capital and economic development mirrors our mission to empower individuals through financial stability.
Amanda Zuretti Amanda Zuretti is Of Counsel at Bowditch & Dewey, LLP, specializing in real estate, land title, municipal law, and non-profit law. Her legal expertise and commitment to community development will strengthen our governance and compliance efforts. Amanda’s belief in the importance of courtesy and generosity in professional competence aligns with our values of compassion and support.
